I just painted my kitchen, my living room/dining room and our front entry way. Totally different colors from what was there before. It seriously looks like a different house. The cabinets in the kitchen really pop, the house looks bigger somehow and the eggplant entry way is sexy yet inviting. What I really wanted to do was to buy a new chair, a new light fixture in the hallway, a new lamp and put in crown molding. Well, that wasn't going to happen, not for awhile. So, because I knew I wanted something fresh and new I realized paint was the least expensive way to make my house seem like I got all the things I wanted. And, I love it!!
As I was thinking about the new paint and how everything looked and felt I realized a closet and wardrobe is much the same. You may want an entirely new wardrobe, or maybe you just feel like you need a pretty big overhaul. Now may not be the time financially to start from scratch. I believe you can make that black shirt/black pant or skirt combo look fresh and new with a new pair of nude pumps (Nine West has a beautiful pair for $40 on endless or piperlime.com) or a great black boot or go to Anthropology or Banana Republic and hit the accessory section and pick up one of their beautiful necklaces or cuffs on sale. Or maybe you walk through Target and pick up one of their cute, inexpensive tops to wear with the jeans you already have. It doesn't have to take a whole overhaul to make your wardrobe appear fresh and new.
It worked for me (for now).
Not everybody can do that alone, you seem to be very creative.
